KINGSTON, Jamaica:

A man who is believed to have participated in this morning’s sabotage of Jamaica Urban Transit Company buses is now in police custody.

There were six reported incidents of JUTC buses being damaged in the Kingston Metropolitan Region.

Five of those incidents occurred on 31 and 32 routes.

Managing director Colin Campbell explained that those routes are among the bus company’s most profitable.

He says the police are also searching for another man who is believed to be the mastermind behind the attacks.

Campbell estimates that damage to the buses is in excess of $1 million.

He said repairs will be done to the buses overnight with the view of reintroducing them to the fleet tomorrow morning.
