Appeals Court push back hearing of Gov't Challenge To Viralee Latibeaudiere

The Court of Appeal has pushed back to tomorrow its hearing of an application challenging a Supreme Court order granted to former Commissioner of Tax Administration Jamaica, Viralee Latibeaudiere.

The Government is seeking to get the order granting Latibeaudiere leave to the Judicial Review Court thrown out.

It is contending that she failed to file certain documents with the court within the specified time and as such the order should be quashed.

Latibeaudiere was dismissed from her job in July 2012, but she has objected to her termination.

Last August, she took the issue to the Supreme Court and Justice Bryan Sykes granted her leave to the review court to challenge her removal.
