BOXING: Contender Series continues tonight

The fourth bout in the 2014 Wray & Nephew Contender Boxing Series takes place tonight with Jamaican Ramel ‘Sub Zero’ Lewis facing Gardel 'The Judge' Roberts of Guyana.

The six-round fight bout will be held at the Chinese Benevolent Association auditorium on Old Hope Road.

The fight is scheduled to start at 9:30p.m. and will be live on TVJ.

The Guyanese boxer enter the bout with an unimpressive ring record.

Roberts, who has been boxing as a professional since 2008, has had 10 fights and lost nine.

'Sub Zero' Lewis placed fourth in the Contender series last year and this represents his first fight since the 2013 series.

Action at the venue starts at 8:30 p.m. with two amateur fights.

Sixteen welterweight boxers, including eight from other Caribbean countries, are contesting the series.

The boxers are fighting for a top prize of $2 million, with the runner-up earning $500,000, third place $250,000 and fourth $200,000.
