Three men who were charged in connection with a daring daylight robbery at Tropical Jewellers on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew in April 2011 were yesterday convicted in the Gun Court.

They are Winston ‘One Son’ Harris, Garnett Linton and Jade Abrahams.

Justice Martin Gayle has put off sentencing until May 2.

Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Andrea Martin Swaby led evidence at the trial that robbers posed as policemen, held up the security guards and robbed the jewellery store of $50 million worth of jewellery.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Paula Llewellyn, has written to the police commissioner commending Senior Superintendent of Police Cornwall ‘Bigga’ Ford and Inspector Phillip McIntosh who were the lead investigators in the case.
