Cops seize ganja, ammunition worth $2 million

Law enforcement officers have seized ammunition and ganja valued approximately $2 million in Manchester and St Elizabeth.



The police say members of the Area Three Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division seized the ammunition and just under 400 pounds of ganja following operations in Manchester and St. Elizabeth on Saturday and Sunday.



The cops say they conducted an operation in Goshen district in St Elizabeth, during which a hut was searched and 40 pounds of ganja and 30 .38-millimetre rounds of ammunition found hidden inside.



The operation continued in Pepper district in Manchester, where another hut was searched and 350 pounds of ganja and a .38 round found hidden in a barrel.



The drug has an estimated street value of $1.95 million.



No one was arrested in relation to the seizures.
