Jamaica's CARIFTA Games medal tally increase to 30
Jamaica's medal tally increased to 30 at the end of the morning session of the 43rd Carifta Games now under way in Martinique with the addition of three gold medals, two silver and a bronze.
A rerun of the Boys Under 18 100-metre dash resulted in gold for Raheem Chambers, who won in 10.27 seconds, while Waseem Williams was second in 10.33 seconds.
The other medal winners on day two were: Rochelle Frazer and Paul-Ann Gayle who won gold and silver respectively in the Girls' Under 20 Discus; and Vashon McCarthy and Warren Barrett who finished first and third respectively in Boys' Under 18 Shot Put.
Jamaica also advanced to the finals of the the 400 metre hurdles and 800 metres.
The country now has a total of 14 gold; 10 silver and six bronze medals.
