Preliminary hearing date set for Thornton, St Elizabeth murders

A preliminary hearing has been set for August 7 for the suspect in the murders of two teenage boys who were chopped to death in St Elizabeth earlier this year.



The bodies of 15-year-old Ashnell Coke and Desrick Williams were discovered with multiple chop wounds in bushes in Thornton District on January 9.



Alton Baker of Thornton district, St Elizabeth has been accused of killing them.



At the time of the murders, Baker was on bail in relation to a wounding incident in Manchester.



In addition, shortly before being charged for the murders, Baker was also charged with wounding with intent, following an incident on November 25, 2013.



Baker’s case in relation to wounding with intent was set for mention on July 14 when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
