The Jamaica Fire Brigade says a fire at the Tacky High School in St Mary has now been brought under control.

Acting deputy commissioner, Warren Malcolm, says the fire brigade received a call about 6:30 a.m. and units from the parish and St Ann responded.

He says the fire was confined to the administrative block at the school.

The block also houses the cafeteria and auditorium.

Meanwhile, acting deputy commissioner, Warren Malcolm says a unit had to be pulled from the Tacky High School fire and redeployed to a supermarket in Highgate also in St Mary.

It is not clear how both fires started.

The Education Ministry is to make a statement shortly.
