BOXING: Jamaica, T&T showdown in Contender Series tonight

The last preliminary round bout of the 2014 Wray & Nephew Contender series takes place today at the Chinese Benevolent Association auditorium.



The six-round bout features Jamaica’s Kevin ‘Bus Boy’ Hylton against knockout specialist Prince-Lee Isidore from Trinidad and Tobago.



Fight time is 9:30 p.m.



The winner of tonight’s bout will join Jamaicans Donovan ‘Police’ Campbell, Ramel Lewis, Sakima Mullings Richard Holmes and Tsetsi Davis along with Barbadian Christopher ‘Shacka’ Henry and Howard Eatman of Guyana in the quarter-finals.



Two amateur bouts will precede the main bout, with the first set to begin at 8:30 p.m.



Sixteen boxers from Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados started the quest for the 2014 Welterweight Contender title and nearly $3 million in prize money on March 19.



The boxers are fighting for a top prize of $2 million, with the runner-up earning $500,000, third place $250,000 and fourth $200,000.
