The 2014 West Indies Target Rifle Championships at the JDF Range at Twickenham Park continue today with host nation Jamaica having a medal haul of three.

David Rickman improved Jamaica’s medal tally on yesterday's second day by winning a bronze over the 500-yard range.

Rickman shot 34 with 4 V’s to place third behind Lennox Braithwaite of Guyana, who was first with 35 from 5 V’s and Anderson Perry of Antigua who was second with 34 from 4 V’s.

The bronze medal continues Rickman’s successful streak as it comes a day after he won the gold medal in the 900-yard range.

The shoot over 1,000 yards was postponed yesterday due to rain and is set to take place today.

The day also features three additional ranges 500, 600 and 900 yards.

The two-day aggregate score heading into the day sees Lennox Braithwaite of Guyana in first position, followed by Canadians Serge Bissonnette and Alpar Katona.

The highest ranked Jamaican, Jose Nunez is in fifth position and his countrymen David Rickman, sixth, and Wayne McNair in seventh position.

The Championships will continue until Saturday.
