A man who allegedly stabbed a woman all over her body and left her to die then attempted to end his life was caught and beaten by angry residents in downtown Kingston a short while ago.
The man and a bloody knife, believed to be the weapon used in the attack, were later handed over to the police.
The woman, whose throat appears to have been slashed, has been rushed to hospital.
Eyewitnesses say the two appeared to have been arguing as they walked along North Street.
Moments later, one eyewitness said, the man forced the woman into a nearby vacant lot where she was stabbed repeatedly.
The eyewitness said the man then jumped in front of a passing vehicle in an apparent attempt to end his life.
However, he was quickly set upon by angry residents and beaten before he was handed over to the police.
