The Opposition has released a statement saying it is deeply saddened by the passing of tax expert Ethlyn Norton-Coke.

Norton-Coke, a chartered accountant and attorney-at-law, died yesterday.

The Opposition says Jamaica benefited greatly from her wide and varied expertise.

According to the Opposition, Norton-Coke was a nationalist, who was driven by a desire to serve her country and the less fortunate.

She served on several boards of public and private sector entities, including: the National Solid Waste Management Authority, University Hospital of the West Indies, and the Public Accountancy Board.
