More pedestrians, motor cyclists being killed in road crashes - NRSC

Published:Sunday | May 11, 2014 | 10:13 AM

Pedestrians and motor cyclists account for more than half the number of persons killed on the nation’s roadways this year.

The number of road fatalities recorded up to yesterday was 114. Statistics compiled by the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) show that 41 were pedestrians and 22 were motor cyclists.

The NRSC says the numbers reflected an increase across both categories, when compared with the corresponding period last year.

The NRSC says there have been no reported road fatalities since last Sunday.
