Strong police presence in sections of east Kingston

Published:Sunday | May 11, 2014 | 12:22 PM

The police are maintaining a strong presence in sections of east Kingston after residents mounted blockades in Rockfort and along Mountain View Avenue in protest of the killing of two men on the weekend.

The men were killed by the police during what the cops say was a gun battle yesterday, but residents of Rennock Lodge claim two of the men were killed in cold blood as they bathed at a water pump in the community.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) which is investigating the shootings, says a third man was killed prior to the other two during an incident with the police along Harbour Street in east Kingston.

INDECOM is appealing to residents to come forward with information that can assist the probe into yesterday killings.
