Cause of Sangster Airport fire still unknown

The cause of the fire that destroyed a section of the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James remains unknown.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Constabulary Force are leading investigations.

They say the fire damaged a part of the Crew Room of Ajas Limited and other sections of the building which near the airport’s main terminal.

Head of security at Ajas, Colonel Norman Tomlinson says, so far, investigators have not identified a cause.

And he says operations have not been significantly affected.

The police say preliminary reports received indicate that the fire started approximately ten minutes before nine o’clock last night.
