Ex-St Lucia Gov't Minister suggests removal of Kenny Anthony-led cabinet to ease economic woes

A former government minister has suggested that getting rid of the Kenny Anthony-led administration is the only way for St Lucia’s economy to rebound.

Former public service minister, Lenard Montoute made the comment as he criticised a proposed wage cut for civil servants.

He said retrenchment or salary cuts are not the only available options, as the government itself can be removed if it is incapable of managing the economy.

The former Public Service Minister said civil servants are the ones who can bring some stability to the economy since they can qualify for loans because of their salaries and the security of their job tenure.
