St Thomas Parish Council to get new building

Published:Thursday | May 15, 2014 | 4:01 PM

Minister of Local Government and Community Development Noel Arscott has disclosed that a building is to be constructed to house the St Thomas Parish Council.

Arscott says effort is now being made to find a site for the new structure.

He made the disclosure yesterday at the installation ceremony for Mayor of Morant Bay, Ludlow Mathison, and his deputy, Edwin Marr.

During his address the local government minister announced that the St Thomas Parish Council is to be equipped with a computerised system.

He says the system will make the approval of development planning applications more efficient and transparent.

Arscott says training of personnel to use the new system is to begin shortly.

He, however, did not state when the new system will become effective.
