Arnhim Eustace, the leader of the main opposition party in St Vincent and the Grenadines, has reiterated his party’s intent to press for the removal of visa restrictions to Canada if he wins the general election constitutionally due next year.

Eustace, the leader of the New Democratic Party made the declaration at a town hall meeting at the weekend.

He said for some time, the party had been examining the matter of the visa restriction with the aim of reversing the decision made on September 11, 2012.

At that time, Canada said it had imposed visa requirements on St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines because of concerns that some people were presenting unreliable documents.
