Health and Environment Ministry has improved security services at the Bustamante Hospital for Children following complaints from healthcare workers of abuse by parents.

The healthcare workers protested at the hospital recently, after a nurse was reportedly hit in the face by an irate parent.

The nurses complained that the parents of children at the institution often abuse personnel.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry, Aundre Franklyn, said following the action by the hospital’s employees, the number of security personnel at the institution has been increased.

Children’s Advocate, Mary Clarke urged parents who visit the hospital not to abuse the staff.
