WESTERN BUREAU:
Minutes before the arrival of roots reggae artiste Chronixx, the front stage area at Reggae Sumfest 2014 was, at best, bare.
But, while he was being heralded, there was a rush of patrons, hundreds of them, who were anticipating his performance.
The conscious roots reggae singer did not disappoint, exceeding all expectations, while rocking the crowd with 'Nah Follow', 'Prayer'and 'Here Comes Trouble’.
Chronixx, who appropriately started 'star time' for International Night One, ended his one-hour set with 'Spirulina' and 'Behind Curtain', to a rousing ovation.
American R&B artiste Jason Derulo followed, the incredible reggae set, performing hit after hit, from 'Ridin Solo' and 'Whatcha Say', a duet of 'Vertigo', and 'Talk Dirty'.
He was joined by American Idol winner Jordyn Sparks, who performed 'No Air' to an exceptional audience response.
International Night One also had the likes of Shuga, Jessie Royal, Rojjah Mendez & Nature as ice breakers, while DJ Bambino and Miss Kitty kept the crowd engaged through the transitions.
