A former employee of the Santa Cruz Branch of the RBTT Bank, who was accused of defrauding a bank customer of more than $2 million, was denied bail when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate Court this morning.

The court was told that last year June to December, Reynardo Elliot, 22, of Ingleside, Mandeville, Manchester, withdrew money from the account of Lawrence Lembhard, owner and operator of Lembhard Service Station in Santa Cruz.

According to Mr. Lembhard, he observed irregularities to his lodgment accounts and the police were called in. The accused was arrested and charged on December 31.

He is scheduled to return to court on January 24.
