Hospital security concerns

Security concerns head the agenda health representatives and the government will be discussing today.

Representatives of the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital and Parliamentary Secretary in the Health Ministry, Senator Andre Franklin called the meeting with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eon Jarrett.

The meeting scheduled for the ministry’s headquarters in Kingston comes against growing security concerns at the hospital.

Also summoned to the meeting are the Medical Officer Dr. Horace Betton and the Regional Director of the North East Regional Health Authority, Dr. Michelle Roofe.

The meeting follows an incident yesterday when a psychiatric female patient walked out of the hospital around 4am.

The St. Ann’s Bay police said a missing person report has been filed.
