The Jamaica Boxing Board of Control has secured another $200,000 to stage the Burger King Amateur Boxing Series.

The added financial help has come from Wisynco Group Limited, two days before the opening bout of the series.

The Jamaica Open begins at the Stanley Couch Gym on Friday and ends at the Holy Childhood Auditorium on Saturday.

Six fighters from Trinidad and Tobago are scheduled to compete on the card.

Local boxers will come from seven gyms across the island.

The series will include six other bouts, with the remaining events scheduled for February, April, June, August, October and December.

Last week Burger King pumped in $500,000 as the title sponsors.
