Representatives from the Finance Ministry are expected to meet today with employees of Air Jamaica and the National Workers Union (NWU).

The Finance Ministry will be seeking to resolve an ongoing dispute between the workers and the management of the airline.

Minister without portfolio in the Finance Ministry, Senator Dwight Nelson is expected to oversee the negotiations.

Vice President of the NWU, Granville Valentine said the issue of outstanding statuary deductions to be paid to the National Housing Trust, and the outsourcing of the airline are among the issues to be discussed.

He said he is hoping today’s meeting will be successful.

There are reports that the new board of the airline recommended that 30 percent of the employees be relieved of their jobs.

The Airline’s management is claiming that they are losing millions of dollars.
