Tropical Storm Erin Nears The Coast oF Texas

The center of Tropical Storm Erin at 4:00 a.m. was located near Latitude 27.3 degrees north and Longitude 96.7 degrees west or about 90 kilometres southeast Corpus Christi Texas and about 290 kilometres southwest of Galveston Texas.

Erin has been moving erratically towards the west northwest near 19 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue over the next 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 km/h with higher gusts. A little strengthening is possible prior to landfall but once inland, Erin is expected to weaken.

Tropical Storm Erin is not a threat to Jamaica.
