Representatives of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) are seeking to have the management of the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), maintain a two year wage contract for some workers at the entity.

The parties will continue their wage talks this afternoon in an effort to reach an amicable agreement.

BITU President, Kavan Gayle is insisting that there should be no extension of the current contract period.

The BITU represents more than 70 ancillary, administrative and technical workers employed to the Bureau of Standards.
