The Governor of the Central Bank in Trinidad and Tobago, Ewart Williams said the potential economic recession in the United States could affect trade in the Caribbean.

U.S President George Bush acknowledged that the economy is undergoing a period of uncertainty.

According to Mr. Williams, the recession will affect the demand for goods and services in the region.

He said Trinidad and Tobago’s development plan would be severely affected, if the global price for oil drops as a result of the economic situation in the U.S.
