Members of the Internal Audit Unit of the University of Technology (UTECH), who were sent on leave last week, have resumed their duties at the University.

The team was sent on leave after a confidential document was circulated to the media.

The University Council said the employees were asked to return to work based on the progress of an investigation, which was carried out following the leak.

According to the Council the decision to send the audit staff on leave, was not intended to attribute guilt to the individuals.

The National Workers Union (NWU) said it would be meeting with the school’s administration today, to discuss how the audit team was treated.

The NWU is insisting that the University’s administration apologise to the members of the audit team.
