JCF to introduce lie detector tests

The head of the Police Anti-Corruption Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Justin Felice said more lie detector tests are coming for policemen and women.

He also said there will be increased vetting as part of the force’s anti-corruption drive.

According to ACP Felice, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has established a unit with trained personnel to conduct the lie detector tests, which the police have been using to investigate some of their members.

However, the Assistant Commissioner would not release the results of the tests neither would he say whether they were used in convictions or disciplinary actions.

Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation, Corporal Raymond Wilson said his organisation supports the lie detector initiative, once it is carried out within the guidelines of the police force.
