Brigitte Foster-Hylton
Asafa Powell, World Championships Brigitte Foster-Hylton, Melaine Walker and Shericka Williams are expected to lead a host of MVP stars to take part at today's Milo Western Relays at G.C. Foster College.
In recent years, the MVP Track Club has dominated the Western Relays with Powell, the former World 100m record holder, Foster-Hylton, the World Championships 100m hurdles champion, competing in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Walker, the World and Olympics 400m hurdles champion, and Shericka Williams, who won silver in the 400m at both the Beijing Olympics and Berlin World Championships, are also capable sprint relay leg runners.
MVP could also turn out Sherone Simpson, the Olympics 100m silver medalist, Darrell Brown of Trinidad & Tobago, Kaliese Spencer and Anneisha McLaughlin.
Bruce James, president MVP Track Club, said they were planning on having "all our elite athletes competing", but made it clear it would depend on fitness up to race time.
Meanwhile, over 70 teams are down for the day's event, which begins at 10 a.m. with action in the men's 3000m open.
The first relay event is the high school boys Class One 4x100m. The meet ends with the men's 4x400m open at 6:10 p.m.

The top high-school teams on the girls' side are Holmwood Technical, Edwin Allen, Manchester, Wolmer's Girls and Herbert Morrison, while Kingston College, Jamaica College, and Munro College head the boys' list.
