The Editor, Sir:

I am writing in response to an editorial published recently, titled 'Don't blame Spencer-Jarrett'. Personally, I do not advocate the blame game but I found the writer to be very naïve and biased in his approach. Armadale touched us all, as a nation, and we were all ashamed and shocked to see that under our 'watchful eyes' such grotesque travesties were taking place.

Nonetheless, now is not the time to point fingers, now is the time for us to probe ourselves for solutions so we can ensure such a tragedy will never occur again.

Yes, we are all to be blamed in a sense because we, as taxpayers, should have been more vigilant about how our hard-earned money was being put to use. Armadale should be a lesson to all of us that we must be more vigilant. We must ensure that what happened in Armadale must never happen again.
