WESTERN BUREAU: Signature Cake's deep-fried cheesecake, Mahek Chatani's lipstick chocolate, VIP Meats' jerked lamb sausage, Chas E. Ramson's grilled salmon and tenor Rory Frankson spoke volumes at the Rotary Club of Montego Bay's Wine 10 on Saturday, March 20.

With some 18 exhibitors transforming the fabulous Shoppes at Rose Hall into an oasis of delectable food and wine tasting, Rotary president and organiser, Michelle Daswani, outdid herself for another year, attracting several participants to the annual fund-raising event.

Having topped $1.2 million in 2009, the Rotarians have earmarked this year's funds for the 'President's Project', which is to upgrade the neonatal and paediatric facility at Cornwall Regional Hospital.

"We hope to increase the number of incubators and respirators, along with supplying other vital equipment, to reduce child mortality," Daswani said, adding that the event had taken thousands of man hours by her Rotarian sisters and brothers who worked tirelessly to make it happen.

The companies that partnered to ensure the success of this year's event included Appleton Jamaica Rum, Twisted Kilt, GraceKennedy, Caribbean Producers, 1876 Wines, Tortuga, Sugar Mill Restaurant, Homemade Gourmet, Scotchie's, Lascelles Wines and Spirits, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Frozen Delights, Jablum and WATA.
