A mouth-watering clash is expected today when G.C. Foster Strikers 'A' and Global United will clash in the final of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Supreme Ventures Divisional A League competition at the Leila Robinson Courts starting at 5:30 p.m.
There is also the Divisional C League final at 4 p.m., which is also expected to be hotly contested, between Waulgrovians 'C' and Rivoli United 'B'.
G.C. Foster Strikers, who are unbeaten in this year's competition, are firm favourites to win the title, this after defeating Global United in the preliminary round of the competition.
C. Lloyd Walker, coach of the St Catherine-based team, said his team is ready and raring to go.
better team will win
"We are going there to play good netball and I believe that the better team on the day will win," said Walker.
"I think that we have to shoot well, defend well and control the centre court and once we are able to do this then we should win the game."
Walker added that they are not going to take their opponents lightly because they are a good all-round unit.
"They are a good team because we played them in the preliminary round and we beat them by a narrow margin and so we are expecting a very close game from them," Walker stated.
G.C. Foster will rest their hopes in the hands of the competition's leading shooter Shantel Slater, along with goal attack Petal Smith and defender Nicole Dias.
On the other hand, Dalton Hinds, coach of Global United, said his team is also confident of victory.
"We are going all out to win the final," said Hinds. "Once we stick to our plan and the players execute our style of play for the entire match, then I expect my team to come out on top."
Hinds added that they would be banking on the all-round ability of his players, as well as experience, to take them to victory.
"G.C. Foster is good team because they have a number of players in the national setup and they are also unbeaten in the league. However, I believe that the team that makes the least mistakes win the game," Hinds said.
