Four years ago when entrepreneur Franklin Mason wanted to conduct business in the Portmore municipality, he wanted to leave an indelible mark.
His desire resulted in the conceptualisation of Jungle Fyah Jerk Centre and Restaurant in AMC Plaza.
Today, the dining haven employs 15 persons and is a household name in
surrounding communities.
"I eat here daily as I work and live in Bayside, and the food here is very tasty. That is why I am a customer," Nicholas Irving told Food recently.
Open daily, Jungle Fyah Jerk is an oasis to patrons, the name hot on the lips of all who partake of its offerings.
"We have so many diners depending on our dishes, so we have to be here to serve them," proprietor Franklin Mason noted.
Chef Allessandro Allen told Food that Jungle Fyah Jerk is not limited to pork, fish and chicken. Conch, rabbit and a
variety of seafood also grace its menu, done in a variety of ways.
"We do curried shrimp and lobster, steamed, stewed and escoveitched fish, and other dishes, all done to order."
Not hungry, no problem, work up an appetite while being entertained by conscious music and mixed drinks from the bar. The eatery has something for everyone, including a cook-out held to treat supportive patrons on a regular basis.
