Hansle Parchment, delivered Jamaica’s eighth medal at the IAAF World Championship when he won silver in the 110m hurdles.
Recovering fast from his usual sluggish start, Parchment finished like a train on the tracks to run a season best 13.03 behind Russian Sergey Shubenkov who won the event in a national record of 12.98 seconds.
The Racer’s track club athlete has now added a World Championship medal to his Olympic bronze medal .
"I'm happy for this medal but not so much about the performance. I think I can still do a lot better at the start," he told The Gleaner's Andre Lowe.
In a final that was a sprint from start to finish, National Champion Omar McLeod hit some of the barriers in his lane and finished sixth in a time of 13.18.
Parchment is the first Jamaican to win a silver medal in the 110m hurdles.
