ANNSERT WHITE believes that the way he is running suggests it won't be long before he is up there with the best 400m hurdlers in the world.

The 28-year-old finished in seventh place at the Zurich Diamond League in a time of 50.22 seconds.

He admitted to being disappointed with the outcome but told The Gleaner that he put the performance down to one plane ride too many.

"It was a terrible race, I think the long travelling has killed my legs. I went from China to England and then on to Switzerland. It's been non-stop."

He added: "I didn't really expect anything from myself today, it was more to race and see what happens. The season has been full of ups and downs. I got an injury early in the season so it's been a bit difficult.

INJURYFREE

"I'm injury free now and I have to give God thanks. Next year I expect a big personal best based on how I am training now. The times might not suggest anything special but I know what I am capable of so I going to go back, train hard, and take it from there."

- Joel Campbell
