Voting has been extended by an hour in Trinidad because of heavy rains which this afternoon left some streets flooded in the capital Port of Spain.
Chief elections officer Ramesh Nanan says while the polls have been extended from 6 p.m to 7 p.m in Trinidad, they will close as scheduled at 6 p.m in Tobago.
In a two way fight, the Kamla Persad-Besassor-headed four-party People's Partnership Coalition is trying to stave off Dr Keith Rowley's re-merging People's National Movement.
Speaking from Port of Spain, Senior Gleaner Editor Arthur Hall said the race is too close to say who is likely to be named winner later tonight.
