Netball

Frazers Content and 3 West United were on fire, as they scored very emphatic wins in the Institute of Sports St Catherine Community Netball competition on Sunday.

Frazers Content registered the biggest victory, hammering Spring Village 37-6 in their Zone Three encounter. In other group matches, DB Basovak won 17-10 over Dochecon, while Spanish Town Spartan and Old Harbour played out an exciting 19-19 tie.

In Zone Two action, 3 West United pulverised Dream Team 32-3, while Marchlett beat Team Barnaby 30-9.

In Zone One, Strikers United beat Phoenix Strikers 24-10 and Riverdale won 24-17 over Harkers Hall. The competition continues on Sunday.

Ghetto World Cup

Meanwhile, as INSPORTS' Kingston and St Andrew Community Football League - The Ghetto World Cup - continued on Sunday, Woodford Strikers notched a comprehensive 7-0 win over Kingston and St Andrew Strikers.

In two other games, Stadium Gardens clipped Nannyville 1-0 and Kintyre turned back High Light View 2-0.

FIFA coaching course

FIFA will host a Coaching Course from November 30 to December 4, which will focus on the coaching of female players. The course will be under the instruction of well known former England international footballer, Hope Powell. The course, which will be held at the JFF Football Centre, UWI, will have as participants coaches from the Sherwin Williams Women's League, selected former national female players, national coaches and representatives of parish associations.

The JFF has also invited GC Foster College, University of Technology and the Ministry of Education to send representatives.

Powell, who has parental roots in Jamaica, is a former international football player who was the coach of the England women's national football team and the Great Britain women's Olympic football team up until 2013. She won 66 caps for England, making her debut for England at the age of 16 and played in the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup. At 31 she became the youngest ever coach of an England national football team, as well as the first woman and first black person to hold that position.
