Embattled East St Thomas MP Dr Fenton Ferguson said he wants a sixth term as the people's representative to complete unfinished business.
Ferguson, speaking at a People's National Party (PNP) mass rally in Morant Bay, said chief on his agenda is getting jobs for young people.
"We must get the jobs. We must get the jobs for young people in St Thomas," Ferguson said.
He announced that Industry Minister Anthony Hylton is due to visit the parish this week to look at job creation possibilities.
The visit will include a trip to the old Goodyear factory.
"We have to get something going at Goodyear. We must get something going at Goodyear," Ferguson said.
The old Goodyear factory has often been announced for job creation facilities but none has materialised.
Ferguson said that jobs are coming for Port Morant as the Factories Corporation building has now been leased and that means jobs for young people.
"In my hands you are safe. In the People's National Party's hands you are safe," Ferguson said.
In addition to job creation, Ferguson said he wants a sixth term to ensure that the southern Coastal Highway — which is to run from Harbour View to Port Antonio — comes to fruition.
Ferguson also said he wants to see the Rudolph Elder Park in Morant Bay become the Emancipation Park of St Thomas.
He said too that with the growth of Morant Bay as a town it now needs a central sewage system and he wants to see that come to reality.
