The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has confirmed that the requested preliminary report on Sunday's islandwide power outage has been received from the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS).
However, as it relates to the details of the issued report, the OUR was unable to comment further.
Earlier this week, the OUR requested that the JPS provide details regarding the power cut that affected a high percentage of its customers.
As a precursor to a more detailed report, the OUR had asked the JPS to urgently submit a preliminary report on the blackout within a 30-day period from the time power was restored.
The preliminary report should indicate the cause of the outage as well as the overall impact on the generation, transmission, and distribution systems and on its supply to customers.
