Prime Minister Andrew Holness will on Tuesday launch the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Review Commission that will look at Jamaica's future in the regional group. 

The launch will take place in the Office of the Prime Minister in St Andrew.

It comes less than a week before Holness joins other regional leaders for the 37th CARICOM Heads of Government conference in Guyana.

In April, Holness announced that former Prime Minister Bruce Golding will chair the commission.

At the time, Holness argued that the time had come for Jamaica to fully assess the benefits, opportunities and challenges of CARICOM. 

He also said Jamaica needed to assert itself to gets the benefit of CARICOM.

In recent years, Jamaican businesses and some politicians have been questioning whether Jamaica needs to be in the regional bloc.

There have also been numerous immigration and trade disputes involving Jamaica and other members of the regional grouping.
