New People's National Party (PNP) president, Dr Peter Phillips, says he would support a return by young politician Damion Crawford to representational politics as a member of Parliament.

The firebrand former member of Parliament was ousted as the PNP's representative in the Eastern Rural St Andrew in the run up to the last General Election.

Crawford had taken a back seat to affairs within the PNP, after he was replaced by Imani Duncan Price in the seat.

However, he was back in the limelight on Sunday as he took centre stage at the party's special delegates' conference at the National Arena on Sunday to introduce Phillips.

Speaking on RJR's Beyond The Headlines yesterday, Phillips said there is be a place for Crawford and others like him in the party.

Phillips says he will be drawing on the dynamism and enthusiasm of the youth and the experience of the mature members of the party to chart the way forward.
