2011 World Champion Yohan Blake sped to a quick 9.97 to win the men’s 100m at the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium a short while ago.

Blake flew out of the blocks then sped away from the field to win the event. It was Blake’s second sub-10 clocking of the season after his 9.93 at Jamaica International Invitational Meet on May 20.

"It has been going really good for me. Usain told me before I came out here, 'Blake stay patient' and that's what I did," said Blake.

South Africa’s Akani Simbine was second in 10.00 ahead of Keston Bledman of Trinidad and Tobago 10.22.
