The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is assuring residents of Lydford in St Ann that no live ammunition will be used during a four day training exercise in the community next week.
The army says there is no need for residents to be alarmed by the presence of soldiers in their community during the exercise, which is scheduled to start on Monday and end on Friday.
The JDF is also appealing to residents not to interfere with its training equipment.
It says In the event that unexploded ordnances or paraphernalia are found, a report should be made to the JDF Headquarters, at Up Park Camp.
The army says members of the public who may have concerns may contact the JDF at telephone number 960 – 8776.
