J Wray and Nephew Ltd has suspended operations at its Spanish Town Road offices as a precaution amid Jamaica's first Coronavirus case.

The company says this is because the patient had close contact with one of its contractors.

In a statement this morning, Wray and Nephew said the contractor has since been quarantined and is now awaiting test results while being monitored by the Health Ministry.

J Wray and Nephew also said it is in on-going dialogue with Government officials to assess and track the situation as it awaits the results of the contractor’s Coronavirus test.

In the meantime, the company has activated its ‘Smart Working Policy’.

As a result, all staff members who are able to work remotely have been asked to do so.

J Wray and Nephew says the activation of the Smart Working Policy is another precautionary measure intended to safeguard the welfare of employees, customers and the wider community.

It also said it will strictly adhere to stringent, international manufacturing and quality standards.
