THE EDITOR, Madam:
The year 2020 came with unexpected challenges for many. Positions became redundant, jobs were lost, and so were many lives. Some are still blaming COVID-19, while others are blaming government policies – at a time when China and the United States are bidding for Jamaica in secret and having a fight over it. What many have failed to believe or understand, is that these are things which were long predicted to come about; and still more is to come. If you want to hear it, yes, things will get worse, believe it or not.
The great Solomon said in Proverbs 24:3-5. “Through wisdom is an house build; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” A house cannot stand without a godly family, and this is where we are all going wrong; and so God has taken a back seat, watching man self-destruct. Our leaders have failed to listen and follow true wisdom. We have so many homes with children but no fathers.
We must as a nation understand that the family is not a product of any state or country. It pre-existed government. It existed before the Church, is natural, and therefore cannot be controlled by agencies. So when a government threatens to lock up parents for not taking care of their children and takes over custody of a child, then that government becomes guilty of illegal custody in God’s sight.
This sounds insane, but then even Jesus’ family thought he was out of his mind at one point. Remember Mark 3:21. The rich and famous leaders tread these grounds, hence the problems in society and workplaces.
It’s a year to return to God, for great trouble is ahead, and only He can see us through.
