Edwin Allen’s Monique Stewart fought a battle at the top of the straight before easily winning the Class Two girls’ 800 metres at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium today.

Stewart pulled from the pack to record a time of 2:11.00 minutes, with Cindy Rose of Holmwood taking the silver medal in 2:11.67 as St Catherine High’s Kitania Headley ran a quick final 50 metres to take the bronze in 2:11.73.
