Unfazed that she is competing in her first season as a professional, Jamaica’s quarter-miler Charokee Young showed her class to stop a class field in the women’s 400 metres at the Racers’ Grand Prix this evening at the National Stadium.
Young, gliding from lane three, sped to 51.11 seconds ahead of fellow Jamaican Stacy-Ann Williams, who did 5134 and the United States of America’s Kendall Ellis, who did a season’s best of 51.37.
Barbados’ reigning Commonwealth Games champion, Sada Williams, had to settle for fourth in a time of 51.57.
