Saluting Dr Simone Dundas Byles

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I write to congratulate Dr Simone Dundas Byles , founding president of Jamaica Association of Paediatric Surgeons, whose professionalism in childcare was recognised internationally. Dr Dundas Byles’ exemplary work (supervisor of the DM, Paediatric Surgery Training Program, UWI) was celebrated on the social media pages of the American College of Surgeons on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026. Her work was publicised as “representative of the role of the American College of Surgeons’ commitment to healing”. We celebrate our women at work and recognise specially those working with compassion and zeal in the healthcare of Jamaica’s children.
