WESTERN BUREAU:
Falmouth Chicken, the fast-food chain founded by businessman Christopher Jobson in 2006, is continuing its ambitious expansion across western Jamaica with the opening of its latest location, the City Centre branch, in Montego Bay, St James.
The new Montego Bay location, which was opened on March 15, brings to three the number of Falmouth Chicken locations in the region, with its flagship store in Falmouth and another branch along Barnett Street, in Montego Bay, already on the radar.
The City Centre outlet, which employs approximately 20 team members, represents not just growth in numbers but is being viewed as a strategic move in Jobson’s bid to widen the entity’s footprint in its aggressive expansion plans.
“We are working assiduously to open a major store in Trelawny,” said Jobson, who serves as the managing director of Falmouth Chicken.
“Additionally, we are advancing plans for locations in Savanna-la-Mar and Ocho Rios by the end of 2026.”
The new locations for Westmoreland and St Ann are expected to feature modern conveniences, including drive-through services, which will be a first for the brand as it adapts to evolving customer demands and a competitive fast-food landscape.
The opening of the City Centre branch is already generating a strong public response as customers are seemingly anxious to sample its offering. In terms of job opportunities, more than 500 persons submitted applications, and while rehiring has been completed, interest continues to pour in.
Falmouth Chicken’s menu extends beyond the well-known fried chicken to other offerings such as chicken sandwich combos, beef burger combos, fish sandwiches, wings, nuggets, and its signature the ‘Vibez Wow’ meal, which features mashed potatoes, corn, and other side ingredients.
With three locations now in operation and clear expansion plans, Falmouth Chicken is seemingly poised to cement its place as a leading Jamaican-owned fast-food brand, which, according to Jobson, is not only growing but growing with purpose.
